New BBC Period Drama, ‘The Hour’ starring Romola Garai & Dominic West

BBC Two will be bringing us a new drama set in 1950s London starring my favourite period drama actress Romola Garai (Emma, Atonement, Vanity Fair) and the gorgeous Dominic West! Yay! The series will be a thriller set in a television newsroom and will explore the politics of  an emerging topical news show. The series is written by Abi Morgan (Brick Lane, Sex Traffic) and will be in six episodes. Romola is the female lead, starring alongside Dominic West and Ben Whishaw (so surely we can expect some romance?!) Murder is also apparently in store for viewers(!) so it really should be an exciting thriller! As well as the three leads, the rest of the cast is equally as promising, including Tim Pigott-Smith, Juliet Stevenson, Anton Lesser, Anna Chancellor, Julian Rhind-Tutt and Oona Chaplin.

The show should be coming to our screens on BBC Two next year.. Sounds like a definite must-watch to me!
