Return of Garrow’s Law for Second Series…

Period drama fans are in for a treat with the return of Garrow’s Law to BBC soon..! For anyone who missed the first series, the show focuses on the life of 18th Century barrister William Garrow and his fight for legal justice. Andrew Buchan stars as Garrow (period fans will know him from Cranford), with Lyndsey Marshal (Rome) as his female love interest, Lady Sarah, and if the last series is anything to go by, this casting works perfectly!

I am really thrilled that the show is returning for a second series – the first series was great and something a bit different in terms of period dramas in that it was both factual and wildly entertaining (imho). And who doesn’t want their crime-fighting hero dressed in a cravat? (Or maybe that is just me?)

According to the BBC Press Office, the new series will focus on the legal repercussions of Garrow’s relationship with Lady Sarah with her husband Sir Arthur Hill making criminal charges for them both. “Against Sarah, he institutes ‘separation by bed and board’ – a vengeful action that will leave her virtually penniless, unable to remarry and, worst of all, having to relinquish her rights to her son. Against Garrow, he seeks damages for the act of ‘criminal conversation’– a term meaning sexual intercourse with another man’s wife. The amount of damages claimed against Garrow will be enough to ruin him.”

Surely, Garrow will be able to scupper Sir Arthur’s plans for revenge? I for one can’t wait to find out….!
